In-Store Event - The Battle for Agora Campaign Finale

For the past few months I’ve been participating in Dicehead Games’ campaign. The forces of disorder have been assaulting the system of Agora with the intention of opening a mass warp rift and causing untold destruction; the forces of the Imperium and their “allies” have been working to prevent this from happening. In the midst of it all, my Tau have been playing both sides depending upon the available opponent. In my mind they are weakening all factions for the eventual installation of the Greater Good.

Shane created a very intriguing system where we could all play from our homes, letting long distance gamers like myself take part. My group has participated in at least one game for each mission of the campaign, with the exception of the very first Apocalypse battle that saw Chaos repulsed from Agora in the beginning. Since then Chaos has been making steady inroads to capture the system, including the destruction of the moon Kryo in the second mega-battle.

Thus far the Imperials have suffered significant defeats and are on the back foot for this finale. This last Apocalypse game represents a vast assault on the planet itself; we won’t know what the mission is until we get there, and I won’t know what side I’m playing for until the game begins. This combination means my Tau approach will be very generic and ready to take any mission.

The following force is what I plan to play tomorrow. Each player is bringing 3,000 points. I want to be ready to take objectives, scour my home turf, defend a position or knock out an enemy Titan. My formations and choices reflect this tactical flexibility I’m looking for.
