Dropzone Commander Battle Report #37 – Post-Human Republic vs Scourge
We’ve
got another Dropzone Commander game for you today. Josh sets aside the UCM and
takes up the reins of my Scourge army. Can the PHR stop the incoming tide of
organic monstrosities?

Review
The
Scourge positioned so well to do third-turn damage. When I realized how little
I had done to bring his vehicles into my killing zone, I consigned my Walkers
to their fate. He was going to have the first go at damage, and all that E11
had me concerned about what PHR forces would emerge from the other side.
The
PHR deck has a habit of turning things around for you, though, even when it is
looking bleak. The Weapons Hack came at exactly the right time, leading to the
complete destruction of a Slayer group. However, his dice were the tipping
factor in making this one go against him. I had my own stinkers along the way,
but the famed Scourge damage at point-blank range simply failed to manifest.
For
quite a while now I’ve been complaining about the PHR and Shaltari lacking in
Indirect Fire options, mainly because they have no answers to enemy ordnance.
The Thor has taken away my issue with the PHR. The weapon is deadly to anything
it touches, and with such a good Barrage value it can really reach out there
and touch something! It was nice to roll so many ones to hit, only to realize
that I still had a chance to put the round on target. Over the course of the
game they accounted for some significant casualties, and kept his dropships off
of the rest of my forces.
