Review
It
is a totally different experience to have the Tyranid horde bearing down on
you! While I have enjoyed the sense of impending doom it inspires in others, I
most definitely felt what my opponents have felt when they first advanced on my
position. I had the briefest moment of, “There is no way I can stop that,”
before I remembered my target priority and tried to go to work.
WARNING:
Many, many, MANY Tyranids were harmed in the making of this film!
The
Death Guard have impressed me every game so far with their ability to lay down
a withering amount of firepower as they advance, but this one really blew me
away. I didn’t expect to bring so many Tyranids crashing down so quickly. After
that second turn of shooting it felt as if the Tyranids had been crippled, and
the shooting that finished off the Devilgants in turn three really made that
final nail in the coffin. The Rapid Fire to 18” just accounts for so much
table, and it really plays hell on those little critters.
That
said, the plasma weapons were monstrous against the big stuff as well. It was
just insane to watch the wounds melt off the Prime. I really do think Death Guard
with plasma is a winning formula. Throw in a Prince for insurance against all
those nasty 1s, and you are in for a good dose of clobbering.
Stay
tuned. You can’t keep a good bug down.
