After Action Review

This Necron list was much more fun to play than my previous iteration. The phalanx is a reactionary force by nature, and while they can push into the table to exert their will they do it very slowly. Against the Blood Angels this always left me in tower defense mode, shooting his units as they presented themselves. It worked well, but it was also incredibly boring to play.

This list added a ton of maneuverability in the form of Canoptek units and the Destroyers. The Destroyers in particular were beautiful to watch, as they tore into the Space Marines time and again. I’m not quite as sold on the Doom Scythes, although I need to play them a few more times before I decide completely. I want to replace them with six Heavy Destroyers, and make an attempt to redress the firepower balance that I feel shifts in his favor when we are engaging one another from outside 12”.

Let’s have it; what did you think of the game? What changes would you recommend to fine-tune our forces?
